More Reclaimed Wood

Just added 697 board feet of gorgeous reclaimed doug fir to our stack. It's former life was spent as a roof and sub floor from a home in Orange County. :)

Process Photos From Patchwork Desk

We recently finished a patchwork desk for a client in Dana Point and decided to take a few process photos along the way.

We spent lots of time picking out the different pieces for the patchwork top and then laying them out in a way that we saw fit.

Clamping the top, one section at a time.

A Trip To the Yard

We left at 6am in our rented U-Haul and headed down to Orange, CA for some more reclaimed wood. After breakfast, we drove over to the yard and started making our way through piles of wood that has been salvaged from around Southern California. Most of this beautiful lumber would have been tossed into the dumpster and sent to the landfill if it wasn't for environmentally friendly folks who save it, one house and business at a time. Some of the old growth doug fir measured 18" wide and 30' long! Six hours after we started staring down each individual piece of wood, we had another van full.
