Outdoor Table + Bench with Metal Legs

This is our latest piece, featuring a weathered gray doug fir top and metal legs! The table measures 75" X 36" and will be used in the great Silver Lake outdoors. :)

  1. Wow, there is some absolutely amazing / beautiful furniture you have constructed here. Works of art!
I was just curious, I know this might be a stupid question, as I am not a woodworker,
but I was just curious if there is a specific name for those metal legs / feet you have for the table.

I ask as I had this idea to make my own set of rather heavy-duty storage shelves, using some very thick and heavy ply I found and cut up.
I am imagining nailing / screwing the thick ply shelves onto some square metal legs just like these [either that or metal legs that have a kind of "I" design], and then stacking them one on top of the other, like stackable shelves basically, easy to assemble and dismantle.

I would love to know what you call these and where I might find them.

    Cheers!
    And best regards
    -Carl.

  2. Hello Carl,
I don't know of a technical name. We just call them our metal square base option. We have a local metalworker build them for us; we do all of the woodworking. Maybe you could commission a metal worker to do that for your project.
