This 8 foot, weathered table features 2X6's and 2X4's that were salvaged from th...e Santa Ana Historical Society and from Yorba Linda Regional Park. The 2X6's were full of old holes, so we plugged all 34 of them and we like how it turned out!
Great question! I find that if you use two lag screws that are six to eight inches apart, then expansion isn't an issue. The table pictured above is a bit of an illusion because there are no lag screws near the edge of the table, just behind the center two dowels.
